Pakistan's senior batter Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing tour of the West Indies. He missed the third T20I of the series and will also sit out the upcoming ODIs after sustaining a hamstring strain during the second T20I.
The injury occurred while Fakhar was chasing a ball in the outfield during the 19th over of the match. He pulled up in discomfort and a medical assessment later confirmed a minor strain to his left hamstring. Middle-order batter Khushdil Shah replaced him in the playing XI for the third T20I.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Fakhar Zaman will return home on August 4. He will continue his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore under the supervision of the board’s medical team. No replacement has been named for him in the ODI squad so far. Fakhar had modest returns in the first two T20Is, scoring 28 and 20 runs.

Hamstring Injury Adds to a Tough Year for Fakhar Zaman
This is the second time in 2025 that Fakhar Zaman has been sidelined by injury. He was ruled out of the Champions Trophy 2025 after suffering a muscular strain while fielding in the match against New Zealand in February.
The latest setback comes at a time when Pakistan are looking to settle their batting combinations ahead of a busy international calendar. Fakhar’s absence will force the selectors and team management to explore other options for the ODI series against the West Indies.
The PCB is yet to clarify whether a replacement will be drafted in before the series-opener scheduled on August 8 at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad.
