India and England are set to face off in the third Test of the ongoing five-match series scheduled at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, starting July 10.
In the previous Test at Edgbaston, India outplayed England in all departments. Captain Shubman Gill had a historic outing and scored 430 runs across both innings, highest aggregate by an Indian in Test cricket history. Fast-bowler Akash Deep also picked up ten wickets in the match to help India register a massive 336-run win.
The visitors are set to receive another big boost with the return of Jasprit Bumrah. The pace spearhead was rested for the second Test to manage his workload, but will return to the playing XI at Lord’s. He will most likely replace Prasidh Krishna, who took only one wicket at Edgbaston.

England had started the series on a high by winning the first Test at Headingley by five wickets. But their defeat in the second Test came as a surprise, especially at Edgbaston, a ground where they had never lost to India before.
Looking to bounce back, England have announced their playing XI in advance. Jofra Archer has been brought into the side, replacing Josh Tongue. The Lord’s Test will mark Archer’s return to red-ball cricket after more than four years with his last Test appearance coming in February 2021.

England vs India Pitch Report: Lord's, London
The pitch at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London is expected to offer help to the fast-bowlers. England captain Ben Stokes was not pleased with the surface at Edgbaston, saying it felt more like a subcontinent pitch. The return of Archer also suggests they are expecting some pace and bounce. Photos of the pitch shared online show a thick covering of grass, suggesting that pacers could dominate the proceedings.
