Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Rohan Jaitley has lavished huge praise on the rise of the T20 leagues across India, stressing the platform it has given to young players to express themselves and play fearlessly. Jaitley believes such tournaments will not only give the country talented players, but will also help them improve their overall game. For the unversed, the Delhi Premier League (DPL) has given players like Priyansh Arya, Digvesh Rathi, & Prince Yadav.
All three players made their Indian Premier League (IPL) debuts this season, showcasing their immense potential and skills.
"State leagues are not competitors to each other; they are feeders to their own ecosystems. Each state has its own talent pool and structure. More leagues only mean more opportunities for players, and that's good for Indian cricket overall," Jaitely said.

Notably, the DPL is in the second year, and Jaitely believes that the league has already grown in leaps and bounds, compared to the quality of cricket in the first season. The President further stated that the league has established itself in creating a vast and strong ecosystem for both men's and women's cricket in Delhi.
Delhi Premier League has grown leaps and bounds: Rohan Jaitely
"As an administrator, you always want to raise the bar from the previous season - better organization, better preparation, better execution. I'm happy to say this year the league is far more structured and professional. Teams are better prepared, team management is sharper, and the overall ecosystem has grown stronger. Records won't be broken every season - you might not see six sixes in an over every year - but what matters is the consistency and scale of the competition.”

"There is no downside - players are fitter, more committed, and better prepared. They've been in game mode for weeks, with fitness camps and matches keeping them at their peak ahead of the domestic season," he added.
Notably, there have been two new teams added in the DPL this season. Jaitely is extremely pleased by the T20 League's success in a short period, and lauded the team owners for maintaining a professional approach, noting they have entered the league's ecosystem in seamlessly and bought new optimism and energy.
"The new team owners have integrated very well into the ecosystem. They've been professional in their approach, and the existing teams have been supportive. It's encouraging to see more players getting opportunities, which strengthens the league," he further said.

Jaitely also said with Star Sports broadcasting DPL, a wider audience can see the quality on display, and the players fighting tooth & nail for achieving success.
"Having the league on Star Sports is a major differentiator. While many tournaments remain limited to digital platforms, television gives us unmatched reach and visibility, adding immense value for both players and fans."
