Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ended their 18-year-long wait to finally lift the elusive Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) title by beating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs on Tuesday, June 03 in Ahmedabad. Virat Kohli, who has all possible trophies, eventfully laid his hand on the coveted IPL trophy, which he has been dreaming of since he joined RCB as a teenager way back in 2008. As soon as Josh Hazlewood bowled the last ball, Kohli was down on his knees and thanked the Lord for finally giving him the IPL trophy, which has seen him giving it all.
The RCB star let out all his emotions, right from giving a warm hug to his wife Anushka Sharma, to embracing AB de Villiers, Kohli displayed his raw emotions. However, the most epic moment came when the legendary batter jumped like a kid and gave the tightest hug to former India head coach Ravi Shastri.

For the unversed, Kohli has always spoken highly about the impact Shastri has had on him while he coached with the Indian team. The RCB star has also credited the former India cricketer for bringing the winning mentality to the Indian team. Kohli considers Shastri as his mentor and elder brother. Even the commentator has the highest respect for the legendary batter.
The duo also were at the helm when India, for the first time, defeated Australia Down Under in the 2018-19 series. Shastri played a starring role with his tactical planning and street smartness. Shastri and Kohli are still in contact despite the latter's busy cricketing schedule.
